Our Church Culture
Built on the Heart of Matthew 18
This Is Us
At Snover Heritage Church, we believe church is more than a place we attend—it is a people we become together.
Matthew 18 shapes the way we lead, serve, restore, and care for one another. It guides how our leaders lead and how we encourage every person in our church family to live in Christ-centered community.
This is the culture we are building together.
1. Be Humble
We believe true greatness in God’s Kingdom begins with humility.
Our leaders model humility first, and we invite our entire church family to live with the same servant-hearted posture.
This means:
- We listen before we speak
- We remain teachable and approachable
- We receive correction with grace
- We value others above personal recognition
2. Protect People
We are committed to being a church where people feel safe, seen, and spiritually cared for.
Our leaders take responsibility for how they influence others, and as a church body we all work to create environments where people can grow in faith.
This means:
- We are careful with our words and actions
- We protect those who are hurting, new, or vulnerable
- We create safe places for spiritual growth
- We build people up, never tear them down
3. Take Sin Seriously
Because holiness matters, we do not ignore sin.
Our leaders go first in accountability, integrity, and repentance, and we encourage our church family to pursue the same life of grace-filled holiness.
This means:
- We pursue personal holiness
- We invite accountability
- We address issues with both truth and compassion
- We seek restoration, not condemnation
4. Go After the One
People matter deeply to Jesus, so they matter deeply to us.
Our leaders shepherd intentionally, and we want our church family to reflect the same heart by noticing, reaching out, and caring when someone drifts.
This means:
- We notice when someone is missing or hurting
- We follow up with those who are struggling
- We prioritize people over programs
- We take initiative in caring for others
5. Handle Conflict Directly
Healthy relationships require biblical honesty.
Our leaders are committed to handling conflict the way Jesus taught, and we call our church family to do the same.
This means:
- We speak to people, not about them
- We refuse gossip and division
- We address issues privately and biblically
- We seek restoration, not winning
6. Seek Unity
We believe God works powerfully through unity.
Our leaders seek alignment with God and one another, and we desire a church family marked by peace, trust, and shared mission.
This means:
- We pray before decisions
- We communicate openly and honestly
- We pursue peace and alignment
- We support the mission together
7. Forgive Freely
Because we have been forgiven so much, we choose to forgive generously.
Our leaders model grace, and we invite our church family to be known for mercy, reconciliation, and freedom from bitterness.
This means:
- We release offenses quickly
- We refuse bitterness
- We choose restoration over resentment
- We forgive as a lifestyle
Our Commitment
We are building a church culture that reflects Jesus.
This is how our leaders lead.
This is how we invite our church family to live.
This is how we love one another.
- We lead with truth and grace
- We choose people over preference
- We pursue health over comfort
- We trust God’s way, even when it is difficult
- We honor God in how we treat one another
Together, this is our Matthew 18 culture.
