Who We Are
Seeking Jesus. Serving Others. Belonging Together.
Who We Are
Snover Heritage Church is a vibrant, Christ-centered community passionate about serving our neighbors and seeing lives transformed by the message of Jesus Christ. With a rich history in the Snover area, our church was formed when three local congregations came together to become one, uniting their hearts and resources to better serve God and our community.
Today, as a non-denominational church, our focus is simple: to help people know Jesus, grow in their faith, understand and apply Scripture, and serve our community as the hands and feet of Christ. Whether it’s through worship, Bible study, community outreach, or simply walking life together, we strive to be a place where everyone belongs, everyone is encouraged, and everyone has the opportunity to grow in their relationship with God.
At Snover Heritage, church is more than a building or a Sunday service—it’s a family. We celebrate God’s love, support one another through life’s highs and lows, and joyfully share the hope of Jesus with everyone we meet.
Our Mission
To make disciples who love Jesus deeply, follow Him fully, and share Him boldly.
What We Believe
1. GOD
There is only One God! Always has been-always will be. The one God is relational in His being which helps explain why he created people and desires a relationship with us. God
has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (three), but yet He only claims to be One. This is commonly called the Trinity.
2. JESUS
Good News! Jesus came to rescue us! Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was supernaturally conceived
by the Holy Spirit in regard to his Human Nature, was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a perfect life, performed many miracles, and died on a cross. Jesus died in our place, taking the punishment for our wrongdoing and rebellion. Because He is Divine as well as human, He was resurrected physically the Sunday morning following His death. He has returned to Heaven and is now our Advocate before God
the Father.
3. HOLY SPIRIT
Even though Jesus left, he said he would send someone to be with us. The Holy Spirit has been sent to give new life to us, to transform us, and to empower us to do God’s work on earth. He is our counselor, comforter and teacher and He convicts us of sin and confirms that we are the Children of God. The Holy Spirit transforms us so that we reflect the character of Jesus and He empowers us with gifts to serve the church and the world.
4. THE BIBLE
The Books of the Old Testament and the New Testament are inspired by God and are fully dependable and serve as our instruction manual for life and we should do our best to follow the precepts revealed in them.
5. CREATION
God created the world out of nothing. He is not the creation, but He is present everywhere.
6. SIN
God created people in His own image (the ability to communicate, reason, make decisions, love), but the first humans rebelled against God (that is called Sin) and this act welcomed evil and death into the world and now all people are disconnected from God and deeply flawed and
in need of rescue and renovation.
7. SALVATION
Humans are saved because of the work of Jesus on the cross. We get credit for his perfect life and for him taking our punishment on the cross. Because of what Jesus did, we can be restored to a relationship with God and live forever with him. This is a gift (Grace) of God. No one deserves it! No one can earn it! But we do need to turn away from evil, ask God’s forgiveness for the wrong that we have done, and place our trust in what He has done.
8. BAPTISM
After we repent (turn away from evil and turn toward God) and place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and what He has done for us, we should be baptized in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
9. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
There is another baptism in the Bible. The Lord Jesus Christ baptizes those who follow him with the Holy Spirit. This is called the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This baptism empowers the believer to serve the Lord and provides the believer with gifts to serve the Body of Christ.
10. COMMUNION
Regularly, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Before we eat and drink, we should examine ourselves and ask for forgiveness for anything that offends the Lord. The elements of communion (cup and bread) are symbols of Christ’s body and blood and are useful in building up our faith in the Lord Jesus; communion should be treated reverently.
11. DEATH
When those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ die, their Spirit/Souls immediately enter into the presence of God. They will be enjoying conscious fellowship with Him, there to await the resurrection, when they will receive a new physical body.
12. RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH
Jesus Christ will return in the clouds for His church in an event known as the Rapture. This is specific to the Church as believers in Jesus Christ, and no one but the Father knows the day or the hour of the Rapture.
13. CHRIST’S RETURN
In his second coming, Jesus will return with His church and Holy Angels at the end of the seven-year tribulation. The entire world will witness this event. Jesus Christ will return to set up His Kingdom on earth where he will rule and reign for 1,000 years. After the Millennial Reign, Satan will be defeated and Jesus will judge both the living and the dead, separating the redeemed and the lost, assigning those who rejected Him to eternal punishment and those who follow Him to eternal life. This will usher in the new heaven and the new earth transforming all creation into what it was meant to be, and God will dwell with men for eternity.
14. SPIRITUAL UNITY
There should be Spiritual unity of all genuine believers in the Lord Jesus Christ which is manifested by the Spiritual Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s lives. “In this unity,
we walk beside one another on our journey to know the heart of God. We recognize that everyone is at a different place on their own person journey, and it is our mission to use our gifts to support everyone right where they are.”
“We seek to help each other weather the storms in their life, and praise God for the blessings we receive from him, while taking care to be true to God’s truths in the Bible, and not letting anything or anyone detract from it.”
15. MARRIAGE
The Holy Scriptures teach that marriage is a sacred covenantal union between a man and a woman that limits sexual relations to a monogamous, heterosexual marriage. As followers of Jesus Christ, we must welcome and treat with compassion, respect, and sensitivity any who confess same-sex attractions or sexually immoral acts but are committed to resisting sexual temptation and refraining from sexual immorality. As a congregation, we are to lead and encourage them in truth through the Holy Scriptures. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Yet He saved us, not because of the righteous things we have done, but because of his mercy.
